The Barnabas Vision Model

"Do you see or know your Vision
And The Components To Make It Reality?"

Most people struggle with how to put their vision in motion,
and bring it to reality.

This is the model that The Branches Group has created to work
through how to bring a vision into reality.

Step 1

The first step is to evaluate and test the client's vision statement,
and determine if it is correct, and/or worthwhile to pursue.
The vision has to be right before you advance
to the mission, goals, and strategies for the vision.

What is a "Vision Statement"

A mental image produced by one's imagination,
put into words

The most common motive, and I believe the correct motive is

to benefit and/or improve society

Martin Luther King said "I Have A Dream"
This was a very clear mental image, with a motive to improve mankind and society

A vision comes to reality,
when it "speaks" to the masses, communicates a message that people want
to join in effort, and ignites a sense of urgency.

A Vision Statement is what you want to become.

A desired vision pulls people to it.
They catch the vision, and their efforts and attitude, put the vision in motion.

A worthless vision, or a vision improperly communicated, is like pushing a rope.
Forget about it.

~ Suggested Questions of a Vision ~

Does the vision matter?
Do people respond and want to join?
Is there a sense of urgency?
Is the vision bigger than any one person?
What are the core values behind the vision?
What is their heart in the vision?

The End Result

A Vision Statement
that meets all the criteria for success
and is correctly communicated

Step 2

Once we have identified the correct Vision Statement,
we can then determine how to put the Vision into action.
The next item to complete is the Mission Statement.

What is a "Mission Statement"

A description of your organization about:

The Purpose
What needs are you addressing?
Why do you exist?
What is the ultimate result of your actions?

The Business
What are you doing to address the needs?
What is the activity to accomplish your purpose?

The Values
What are the shared basic beliefs of the organization?
What are the shared values/principles that will guide decision making?

The Crossover Recovery Mission Statement "Example"

To provide, without bias or prejudice, services that will rebuild lives, rescue those in crisis
and restore participants to a productive and contributing role in the community, by
providing basic needs including: recovery from addictions, transitional housing, safety,
and security in a protected and disciplined environment, fellowship in the “community”
of people, mentoring, coaching, teaching in matters of life, and a spiritual upward call.

You want your Mission Statement to also inspire
and call forth courage and creativity on the part of the employees
to support with heart, the mission of the organization.

The End Result

A Mission Statement
that says how you will put your Vision into Motion

~ A Call To Action ~

Step 3

Once we have completed the Vision and Mission Statements,
we can then determine and establish goals.
Who is going to do what, where, why, and when?
How are you going to measure and monitor achievement?

How to set or establish "Goals"

Clearly identify and execute the following items when setting goals

How to write the goalHow to measure the goal
1.  Who is assigned to the goal?   1.  How will you monitor progress?
2.  What is the target to achieve? 2.  How will you communicate issues?
3.  Where is the assignment to be done?   3.  Is the goal realistic and attainable?
4.  What is the time frame or deadline?                         4.  Are there measureable results?
5.  Why you are setting this goal?

The End Result

A set of goals that begins the activity
to put the vision and mission into motion

~ Let us roll up our sleeves and get to work  ~

Step 4

We now have defined well established Vision and Mission Statements.
We have also established our first set of goals with short and long term strategies.
Now the Components.

What are "Components"

Components are the action items to put
your vision and mission into motion.  Walk before your run
and validate with others what  you think your components
should be from start to finish.

Components involve many factors such as skill sets, technologies, innovative thinking, and a
willingness to overcome obstacles and succeed.

Conclusion ~ Share your vision with others that you trust for feedback and input.  I find myself contantly re-evaluating my vision and adjusting the mission and components each year for my own business and success.

That's it !!!     Pray to Jesus for help and get to work...  He will bring revelation to you if you ask!

"And always thank Jesus along the way"
"Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it."
